Cartoon Humanoid Lizard Rig

This is a rig I recently finished for an upcoming short film that me and my group are making for our final year of art school at Brassart. This humanoid lizard will be the protagonist of the short movie, hence why he has so many controls to animate the smaller details such as his clothes/accessories, facial expression, eyes, etc.

This artwork will most likely be updated to include additional animations once I get to that stage in the project. Stay tuned!

Firstly, I made the armature of the model (the bones for the hat were only made *after* I moved onto the clothing.)

Secondly, I made controllers and parented them accordingly to the joints.

After that, I moved onto some of the more niche controls, such as fk ik switches, bendy bones for the arms, and so on. After that was done, I began skinning the model.

And finally, once the model was successfully skinned I moved onto the finer details such as the clothing, blendshape integration, and later on facial deformer controls.
